Spring Tulip

Another card using SCS sketch for this week. I am finally using the sizzix dies I bought a long time ago. Not sure if white tulips or white lilacs are my favorite spring flower. I love them both! I really am happy with how this card turned out. The front part of the tulip bud is attached to the back with a foam square to give it some dimension. It has also been chalked for more dimension.
Stamps: Air Mail
Paper: Garden Green, Olive, Bamboo, Colonial White, White Daisy
Tulip: Sizzix die
Embellishments: Colonial White ribbon rounds; baubles (Stamping Bella).
Techniques: sewing on paper, edge distressing.

Happy Leap Year Day!

Sparkle has inspired me with her many cupcake creations, so I dug out my sizzix and got to work. I cut the cupcake out of chipboard coasters and adhered paper. The icing is liquid applique, and the sprinkles are beads. It is adhered with a foam square. I also used my cuttlebug folder. I wish I had some fun polkadot purple ribbon that matched but I don't hmmm.... I guess I have to get some. Next time I would not stamp the balloon. This is also with Sketch 165

Colors are: Citrus Leaf, Spring Iris and Heavenly Blue

Paper: CTMH Silhoutte Level 2

Spring Lilac

This one is for you Toni! My last card for Marjorie's color challenge. I have had the lilac sizzix around for a couple of years and not used it. I love how it works with these colors. I used watercolor pencil crayons to shade the leaves. Background stamp sets are: Air Mail, Vintage Post Card, April Word Puzzle.

Grade 3

Here I am again using that dreaded blue! Then to top it off the other dominant color in the photos is orange (bleh), not a fan of either. I do however like Heavenly blue so I decided to try and make it work by random stamping (with flowers from MANY stamp sets) with dutch blue, orange and heavenly blue. I was very surprised and happy with what it turned out to look like! The picture on the left with the yellow paper and picture framed with blue is what Danica did in the beginning of grade three so I just used it for my annual Back to School page.

I then used the scraps to make some cards - the random stamped paper reminded me of pj's so this is what I came up with (a good chance to use my new PJ bella too!). The teddy bear has brown fun flock on it (have had that forever and ever and never used it!).

Now using the Close to My Heart Sleepover stamp set this is what I came up with. The nightie and brush are on foam squares.

Marjorie's Color Challenge #7

This first one I really like. I love the softness and simplicity of it. All supplies except baubles are from CTMH.
Stamps used: March Word Puzzle; For Every Occassion
Colors: buttercup, garden green, lilac mist and bamboo

This second card is using Splitcoast Stampers sketch challenge (#164). The tulip is from Hero Arts. All else is CTMH

This card was made with the same sketch as the previous one. I am so happy, I have had the ribbon forever and could never figure out how to use it. It worked great for this sketch.

Colored with markers, grass is done with watercolor pencil crayon, and sky is chalked.
Embellishments: Prisma glitter on dress, Paper flowers with gem, ribbon.
The flower pot is on a foam square.

Yeah! Cosmobella

This was for the Bella Sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers. I love this Bella as she can be used for so many occassions.

Gymnastics Layout

I finally did some scrapbooking rather than cardmaking. This is a simple layout (not a lot of foofa (?)) but blue and yellow are my 2 least favorite colors to work with so it was very ininspiring for me. I have to stick with colors in the pictures and since the colors of the gymnastics club are blue and white this was all I could come up with. I am happy though that CTMH finally came up with a gymnastics stamp set. The girls on the bottom are on foam squares to give them more dimension.

Stamp set: Gymnastics
Paper: Dutch Blue B&T duo; dutch blue, sunflower and white daisy cardstock.
Stars are from my cricut.

Singing in the Rain

I woke up to rain this morning, bummer, it has been so sunny lately. I just had to use my billybootabella. The puddle has liquid glass, her boots have prisma glitter.

Stamp sets: Billlybootabella (Stampingbella), April Word Puzzle (CTMH)
Papers: Paper Garden Lv 2
Embellishment: ribbon, cuttlebug, glitter, liquid glass and baubles

Wonderful Charms

I just wasn't ready to call it quits yet. I have not used the Wonderful Charms set much, don't know why I love the tulips and the bugs that come with it.

Colored in with CTMH markers and blending pen. The flowers are on foam squares.

Stamp sets: Wonderful Charms, April Word Puzzle
Paper: Paper Garden level 2
organdy ribbon and Bellas Baubles

Hi, What's New?

Ok, enough of this paper pack already. I am going to put it away for awhile! Purple and yellow seem to be growing on me.

Stamps used: For Every Occasion, Fabric Finishes, Friendship Word Puzzle (CTMH), Clickabella (Stampingbella), What's New (Hero Arts)
Paper: Paper Garden level 2
Markers (CTMH)
Watercolor pencil crayons (CTMH)
Organdy ribbon and prisma glitter and cuttlebug folder for embellishments.

Paper Garden Bella

A pro-day today I didn't have to get the kids ready for school so I had a bit of extra time this morning. I had to use my Flowahbella with this paper it just seems to fit. Although purple and yellow are not really colors I like, I am happy with this card. Well, better get ready for work!

Paper: Paper Garden, textured petal cardstock (CTMH)
Stamp sets: Flowahbella (Stamping Bella); sentiment (Hero Arts)
Buttercup photo clip (CTMH), organdy ribbon

Paper Garden Easter

After making a project for a swap I am in I used the scraps to do this card. I used this weeks sketch challenge from SCS for it. I was going to distress the edges but wanted to keep it simple looking.

Paper: Paper Garden Level 2
Stamps: March Word puzzle
Embellishments: Colonial White ribbon rounds, Baby Pink Accessories, Colonial White waxy flax.

The word easter is on a foam square.

Next picture of the eclipse

Lunar Eclipse

I have a great digital SLR camera that I love. I was playing around with my nighttime settings tonight during the lunar eclipse and managed to get a couple of shots that weren't blurred, hard not to move with such a slow shutter speed, even when camera was propped on something! It was neat for the kids to see this.

Flowah Bella

Ok so today was a great day. A day off. I got my house cleaned. The sun was out so I went for a run and I got to play in my craftroom (my most favorite thing to do!). I am in a springy kind of mood, and made the billyboota bella card and then figured I have to make a flower one too (oh, can't wait to see some blooms around here especially my lilacs).

Stamp sets: Flowahbella (Stampingbella), saying (Hero Arts)
Colors: Bubblegum and Citrus Leaf.

The dress has prisma glitter on it and the flowerpot is on foam squares. The embossing is with the cuttlebug folder.

Happy Billybootabella

I was inspired by my previous layout to put green and blue together for this Bella card. I just used scraps of lighter colors. It is hard to tell in the picture but I used watercolor pencil crayons to create a light 'puddle' at her feet. I then put some liquid glass over it to give it more of a water feel. Her boots have liquid glass as well so they look more like gum boots.

Stamp sets: Solo H, Romantic Backgrounds, Serendipity, and Billyboota bella
Colors: Heavenly Blue, Key Lime and White Daisy
I punched out the holes in the scallop border with the cropadile my favorite tool, and her top is done with prisma glitter (my favorite embellishment)

Water Fun Park

What I love about this layout is not necessarily the pictures or the layout but instead the story told. Danica and my neice Melissa spent all day designing and making the 'water fun park'. There was a lot of thought and work put into it and everyone had fun in it when it was all done! The journalling strips that I used are their actual 'tickets' they had made - they made a lot of them!

Stamp Sets: Genuine Fun, Ticket Tags, Lazy Days, Watermelon Picnic
Colors Used: Crystal Blue, Dutch Blue and Citrus Leaf
Embellishments: Bellas Baubles (Stamping Bella), Dimensional Elements (CTMH), prisma glitter
So finally another layout done. It is not one of my favorites but it is done that is what is important. I know they all can't be my favorites, the important thing is that the pictures are in an album with the journalling.
Colors used are: Bubblegum, Sunflower and Breeze
Stamp sets: Fabric finishes, A Little Bee, Best Friends, and Angel Whispers.

In keeping with my own challenge to use scraps from my scrapbooking to make a card this is what I came up with. I used the SCS card challenge for this week. I am also trying to do a new technique, use a new embellishment or new stamp set - this time I used A Little Bee - one I have had for awhile but hardly used. I also sewed around the edge of the card.

Stamp sets used: A Little Bee, Happy Easter, Solo S, Solo F.
The bee has prisma glitter on the body and is on a foam square.

4 You Shopping Bella

Another one of my favorite color combos Black and Kiwi. The patterned paper is from the creative basics collection. Her boots and jacket have liquid glass on them to give the look of leather.
Stamps: Savyshoppa bella (Stampingbella), Random Thoughts, Friendship Word Puzzle (CTMH)

Clickabella

Another Bella, I just can't get enough of them. All supplies are from CTMH except the Bella and the black safety pin. Colors are Baby pink, Black and White Daisy. The patterned paper in her shirt is Creative Basics. I sponged lightly around the image in Baby Pink, made a shadow with the gray watercolor pencil crayon. I also used markers and pencil crayons to color in. As an added touch, there is some glitter on the flowers, her shoes and her necklace. I used the cuttlebug for the background pink paper. I love email so I can so relate to her (although I certainly don't look like that when I'm at the computer! I need jammybella sitting at a computer).

Creative Basics Valentine/Anniversary Card

I think this would be a great Valentine or Anniversary card.

Stamp sets used: Vintage Valentine, Free Spirit - they were embossed with white powder on the black cardstock.
Papers: Cardstock (colonial white, black) and Creative Basics patterned paper.

Hearts are sizzix punched out of coasters.

For this layout I used a truefit folio in order to fit more photos on the page. The left side flips up to reveal more pictures. This was our trip to the San Diego Zoo. It was a long hot day. Danica loved it - a close second to Disneyland! She even donated $5 of her own money to the Save the pandas without us knowing - she told us later!

Stamp sets: Safari, Jungle Leaves, Adventure, Simple Stitches, Fabric Finishes and Friendship Word Puzzle

Paper: Expedition Level 2
Embellishments: Hemp, pewter brads and pewter photo hangers.

Everything is from Close to My Heart

This is the folio flipped up.

After completing a layout I have challenged myself to use some of the scraps to create a card. I also used Marjorie's sketch challenge.
Stamp sets: Happy Birthday, Happy Easter, Fabric Finishes and A Little Bee

I used my cricut for the giraffe.

Sea World Layout

For this layout I used a photo storage page that I cut in half, and then attached to the layout. It is a great way to incorporate more photos onto a page.

Colors: Outdoor Denim, Honey, Crystal Blue, Indian Corn Blue
Embellishments: pewter brads, Outdoor Denim ribbon rounds

Way to Go

Well, this will be the last card for tonight I better finish folding the laundry or I will hate myself in the morning. I hope to find a use for this card someday!

Laurel

Celebrate Creative Basics Style!

Well I did my 10 from 1 card workshop today. Those ladies are so much fun to work with. I had a bit of time to play tonight now that the kids are in bed. I thought that the Creative Basics paper would make great paper pieced pants on this Bella. I love the pants. I also use a tiny heart stamp (from the Solo d) to stamp on the tank top. The Celebrate is from the stamp set Card Commentary. One of my simpler Bella cards - ie. not a lot of bling but I like it (more like me!)

Stylin Bella

I haven't had much time to play for myself in my craftroom. We just had Danica's 10th birthday party today so there was a lot of prep for that. Tomorrow I am doing another 10 from 1 workshop which means A LOT of precutting of paper. I took a break to make a Bella card. I used some prisma glitter on a couple of the bags and liquid glass on the boots. Everything except the Bella stamp is from CTMH.
